Sean A. Naismith
Co-Founder & CEO

Sean Naismith is a senior product and analytics executive with 20+ years leading global SaaS, data, and decision-intelligence platforms in financial services and fintech. As CEO, he sets AlgoIQ’s strategic direction, oversees fund operations, and commercializes the firm’s quantitative IP—translating enterprise-grade AI and behavioral signals into disciplined investment programs for accredited investors. Under his leadership, AlgoIQ’s flagship sleeves—Monetary Transformation and Frontier Consumer—apply a thesis-driven universe, target allocation bands, and regime-aware risk controls to participate in secular growth while containing drawdowns.

Before AlgoIQ, Sean served as SVP in TransUnion’s Global Technology, Data & Analytics organization, where he led innovation for OneTru, the company’s data-intelligence platform supporting ~$3.8B in revenue. He drove platform modernization, embedded AI across workflows, and delivered significant cost efficiencies while expanding revenue via a competitive analytics platform-as-a-service model. Previously, he was General Manager & Head of Analytics Services at Enova Decisions, building a global machine-learning and decisioning business inside a $1B fintech; he also founded and led Naismith Wealth Management, a Registered Investment Advisory serving high-net-worth families—experience that grounds his product vision in front-office realities. Earlier roles include predictive-analytics leadership at Leapfrog Online and TrendPointers, and portfolio management at Sarasota Capital Strategies, where he supported a 40-Act mutual fund and dynamic asset-allocation strategies.

Sean holds a B.S. in Finance (cum laude) from the University of Illinois at Chicago, a Certificate in Financial Planning from Northwestern University, and the CFP® and CMT® designations. He is a frequent speaker on AI, decision intelligence, and risk analytics at venues including TechEx North America, Finovate, and the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago’s Risk Conference.

Ian A. Naismith
Co-Founder & CIO

Ian A. Naismith is a recognized leader in quantitative investing and active portfolio management, with more than three decades of experience shaping the evolution of data-driven strategies. He currently serves as Chief Investment Officer of AlgoIQ, where he leads the development of adaptive investment solutions for accredited investors and institutional partners.

Over his career, Ian has held leadership roles across multiple financial firms, co-managed a The Currency Strategies Fund (NYSE: FOREX), and built tactical indexes that are listed and tracked on Bloomberg, including the Smooth Sailing Tactical Multi-Sector Bond Index. His work blends technology, behavioral finance, and disciplined risk management, resulting in strategies designed to adapt in real time to changing market conditions.

Ian has published extensively in leading financial journals, contributed to the development of innovative investment frameworks, and is a frequent speaker at industry conferences. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Business, Psychology, and Sociology from Austin College.

Shawn Muneio

Chief Operations Officer

Mr. Shawn Muneio is a seasoned investment executive with deep expertise in strategic planning, client relationship management, and manager operational risk due diligence. His extensive background includes overseeing compliance functions and navigating the complexities of high-stakes financial environments. With substantial experience managing a wide array of Reg D 506(c) funds, Mr. Muneio has successfully operated private credit, distressed debt, fixed income, cryptocurrency, Bitcoin mining, energy infrastructure, and commercial real estate syndications.

 

As Chief Operating Officer (COO), Mr. Muneio is adept at navigating the regulatory frameworks of the Investment Advisors Act of 1940 and the Commodity Exchange Act, ensuring that all funds under his management adhere to strict compliance standards while optimizing performance.

His recent roles have included serving as Chief Operating Officer (COO) and/or CIO on several teams, where he was responsible for building out the operational infrastructure of hedge fund startups, analyzing existing operations, and implementing firm-wide productivity and control enhancements. His expertise in improving operational efficiency and strengthening control processes has made him a key player in hedge funds, fixed income funds, and fund-of-hedge-funds environments.

 

Prior to his leadership in fund management and operations, Mr. Muneio spent 16 years ascending the ranks of Fortune 100 companies, where he specialized in global infrastructure investments and spearheaded critical strategic initiatives. He led large, cross-functional teams in the development of innovative products for Fortune 100 clients, enhancing the firms' competitiveness in the global market.

Mr. Muneio holds an Executive MBA from the University of South Florida and an undergraduate degree in Management Information Systems from the same institution. Outside of his professional pursuits, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, often found out on the water during weekends.

Martin Saenz

Chief Strategy Officer

Martin Saenz has been a Managing Partner of Bequest Funds for the last five years. Bequest manages approximately 50MM 506(c) Reg. D Income Fund. Before co-founding a 20-person team in 2019 with his business partner, Mr. Saenz was purchasing various commercial real estate properties in the DC area since 2009. In 2013, he launched a private fund in the mortgage note space which currently holds 75 million assets under management. Over the years, he has written five books, three of which are geared toward real estate investing strategies. Over the years, his experience in acquisition, due diligence and asset management has familiarized him with all aspects of the real estate market. Mr. Saenz is considered a thought leader in the real estate, mortgage note, and passive income industry.

 

Martin holds a BA degree in Philosophy from U.T. — San Antonio, an MBA from Drexel University, and a M.S. in Project Management from George Washington University.
